From artist to paint maker
For me, it all started when I trained at The Forum Painters Academy in Malmö. As an artist, I preferred painting in linseed oil paint above other types of paint. My pictures got a light and depth that I missed in all other types of painting. Artists are curious by nature. This is why it came naturally for me to start experimenting with mixing my own linseed oil paints. From then on, my horizons expanded and I started painted on wood with linseed oil paint, I painted on rocks and I painted on metal. My paint production expanded as fellow artists started buying my paint. This was the starting point of what is today Ottossons Färgmakeri.
At the end of the 80s, I registered the company Gunnar Ottosson Färgmakeri. From that point, paint production became my main occupation, but I still create art pieces and participate in exhibitions.
